FEB 26, 2018 – It was a weekend to remember for the George Mason Club Ice Hockey team, who celebrated multiple victories in two of their closest games of the season.
On Friday, they defeated the University of Delaware 7 – 4 in the first round of the Men’s D3 2017-18 Atlantic Regional tournament. This win was accomplished largely due to the united effort of the team members, with notable mentions to the team captain, Kevin Diner.
The next day, they faced off against Fordham University, in an even closer match. The game winning point was made in the last 15 seconds of the second period, resulting in a final score of 3 – 2.
For the first time in history, the Mason Ice Hockey Club team has qualified for the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Championships. They will be competing in Columbus Ohio March 13th – 17th.
Congratulations and good luck at Nationals!
