Competitive Entries Using a Treadmill, FitBit or Garmin App

Other Results Submissions (Treadmill and Activity File Export)

TREADMILL
If you are completing your 5k on a treadmill, please take a photo of your treadmill result and save the photo with your name in the title. Then, submit your photo via e-mail to rdemus@gmu.edu.

If you wish to use Strava in addition to this, you may manually enter an activity onto Strava by selecting “+” in the righthand corner, then clicking “manual”. Enter the results from the treadmill screen, including duration and distance. Be sure to save the activity as “YourName”+Treadmill5k. For example, BeckyDemusTreadmill5k.

EXPORTING YOUR ENTRY WITHOUT STRAVA

If you prefer, you can export your file from your device app such as Garmin Connect, save the file with your name in the title, and attach it to this form

Exported files may be in the form of a .FIT, .TCX, or .GPX file.  For example, when you go to export an activity from Garmin Connect, you will see that activity exports offer multiple format options including:

  • Export Original
  • Export to TCX
  • Export to GPX

These files will be accepted. Again, the most important thing when placing your file in an e-mail to rdemus@gmu.edu is saving the file with your name that you purchased your registration under so that we know who submitted this result. For example: BeckyDemusVirtual5k.
