
Memberships & Facility Access
A Mason Recreation membership is more than just a gym membership. Our programs, services, and facilities are an essential (and fun!) component of student and faculty/staff well-being. We are proud to share what we offer with members of the Mason community. Memberships and day passes are available to those 18 years of age and older.

Membership Sales
All memberships are available for in-person sale at any of our facilities during regular facility hours.
Online membership sales are available for Students, Faculty/ Staff, and Masters Swimming. Purchase memberships online at connect.recreation.gmu.edu.
- Returning members: Purchase can be made when there are 30 days or less remaining on your current membership. Use the “Membership Renewals” button.
- First-time members: Use the “New Memberships” button.

Additional Adult Pricing
- The additional member must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the same household as the sponsoring member. The sponsoring member must have an active membership for the additional adult to be eligible. Both members must be present at the time of the in-person sale. A list of acceptable proof of address documents that can be used to establish residency at the time of membership purchase can be found on the Polices and More Page.

Parking Permits
- Parking permits for non-Mason affiliated members will be sold directly through Mason Parking Services utilizing their online portal. Non-Mason affiliated members will receive login credentials by email for this portal 3-5 business days after their membership purchase. Through the portal non-Mason affiliated members can purchase a $15 printable parking permit which is valid for the duration of the current membership term.
- Mason students and faculty/staff must purchase parking permits through their normal University eligibility.
Payroll Deduction
- Full-time salaried Faculty/Staff may enroll enroll in payroll deduction to pay for their Mason Rec membership.
- Payroll deduction memberships run continuously until cancelled by the account holder. The per paycheck deduction is calculated as the annual membership price/number of annual paychecks [i.e. $12.50/paycheck for employees paid semi-monthly over 12 months ($300/24); $16.66/paycheck for employees paid semi-monthly over 9 months ($300/18)]. Cancellations made within the first year of membership are subject to a $25 administrative fee (per membership). Cancellations made after the first year of membership are not subject to the fee.
