Upcoming Hours for Aquatics
Curious as to which lanes are open when in the competition pool?
Yellow indicates open rec swim space. We encourage sharing lanes here at George Mason University, don’t wait for your own lane as you may not get to keep it.
Please keep in mind our hours of operation are subject to change. Please see our list of altered pool hours for scheduled events and closings for the months of April-August.
For a nice alternative to working out in the fitness gallery, patrons are encouraged to explore our aquatics facilities that include the recreation pool, whirlpool, cedar sauna, and Olympic-size competition pool. Enjoy open lap swimming or get involved with the facility’s group activities, such as aqua aerobics or one of the many club teams.
Like to lap swim but don’t know what to do? Check out our new Workout of the Week station on our Pool Information bulletin board across from the Lifeguard Office. Each week we will put out new workouts for beginner, intermediate, and advanced swimmers. The workouts are laminated for your convenience to take them to the side of the pool, also look on the back for helpful tips. Try one or try them all. Once you’ve finished your workout, just drop it back off at the station so all of our patrons can enjoy a good workout.
In addition to open swimming and group activities, we offer private swim lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our nationally certified swim instructors can help patrons find success in reaching their goals in a safe and stimulating environment.
Adults over the age of 18 with organized swim team experience are invited to join the Aquatic and Fitness Center’s Masters Swim program. This club practices multiple times a week and has scheduled meets throughout the year.
