Mason Recreation’s facility access system is designed to prioritize student status when a person is both an active student and a Faculty/Staff member with job code SW (student wage).
A common problem that occurs is that active, full-time students who are also wage employees are improperly classified with a job code of WG (non-student wage). This job code will trigger Mason Recreation’s facility access database to prioritize Faculty/Staff status over student status in the display profile.
If you are an active student (Full-Time or Part-Time) who is displaying as a WG Faculty/Staff member in Mason Recreation’s facility access system, you need to contact your employment supervisor and have them change your job code to SW. NOTE: This process may take several days. If you desire to use the Mason Recreation facilities while this change is being made, please consult Mason Recreation’s policy on Pending Time Status.
-[In these cases where a student’s display profile is WG Faculty/Staff and Full-Time time-status is pending, Mason Recreation’s policy is to allow entry only after the student has paid up front for access to the facilities ($8 per day, or $50 semester fee during Fall/Spring, or $30 summer fee during Summer).
These fees will be fully refunded if/when the student’s display profile is changed to Full-Time student. Once the student’s time-status changes to Full-Time, he or she should contact Membership Services to initiate the refund process.]-
