Fall is the best time of the year not only because we get to see all you Patriots back on campus, but also this time of the year is the height of sports season. Mason Recreation will continue the partnership with Modell’s Sporting Goods where Mason students, faculty and staff will receive 15% off regular priced merchandise with their Mason ID (some exclusions may apply). In addition, the Recreation Department will receive 5% of the total money spent at Modell’s using this discount code to help support our Student Development Fund which prepares student’s career readiness!

The discount is available at the Springfield and Potomac Mills locations.

Oct. 5th – Open Climb Celebrates 10 years of The EDGE

Join Mason Recreation’s The EDGE as we celebrate a decade of team building and experiential learning!

Saturday, Oct. 5th | 10am – 3pm

The EDGE turns 10 this October and we hope you can join us as we celebrate this awesome milestone. Come out to the Mason SciTech Campus for games, activities, light snacks, and FUN! This event will also feature an Open Climb on our 50 ft Alpine Tower! This free event is open to students, faculty, staff and community members! We look forward to seeing you there. Splash Night Pioneers Mason Rec Aquatics!

Last Tuesday, September 3rd, the AFC hosted Mason Recreation’s other inaugural event that highlights our Aquatics programs; and yet again this event was nothing short of a success! Mason Recreation took full advantage of utilizing both the Recreation pool, as well as the competition pool to host a number of activities ranging from aquatic fitness classes to log rolling to good ole fashioned pool fun!

We even had a mini driving range and of course we had a BIGGEST splash competition!

We want to thank Club Sports, Fitness, Outdoor Adventure, Club Swimming and the Log Rolling Club for supporting all activities; Aquatics and Golf for their assistance of facilities; And especially a BIG THANK YOU to the lifeguards, staff and student staff that put together and managed the event.

Overall, we had over 150 attendees, 7 clubs tabling, 3 Mason Recreation tables & 1 great night!

September 2019 | Welcome Back to School & Mason Recreation!

Rockin’ With REC Recap!

Last Wednesday, the RAC hosted Mason Recreation’s biggest event of the year: Rockin’ With REC! A chance to highlight all of our departments and programs under one roof to students new and old!

The doors into the RAC where lined with students because the first 100 received a FREE Rockin’ With REC shirt!

Luckily the RAC had enough room to provide space for all of our club sports to recruit and highlight their program.

We not only had a social media prize contest where winners walked away with either an Echo Dot, Wireless Headphones, FitBit or a Bookstore Giftcard; but we also had ZUMBA, a mini-golf obstacle course, photobooth and s’mores!
