Recreation Pool Reopening October 10

Attention Members and Guests,

We are on track to reopen the recreation pool and sauna tomorrow, Friday, October 10. The pool hours can be found on our lane charts.

Due to piping problems while restarting our whirlpool pumps in preparation for reopening, we will not be able to reopen it at this time. We anticipate reopening our whirlpool on Tuesday, October 14, and will keep you updated on any changes.

Recreation Pool Update

Recreation pool maintenance began on Monday, September 22. This process will involve power washing the pool, re-grouting of the pool tiles, disinfecting our filter system and adding new sand to the filters. This is expected to take approximately two weeks, and if everything proceeds as planned, we anticipate re-opening the recreation pool area (pool, sauna, and whirlpool) the week of October 6.

The Fall semester is almost here! Our facilities will transition back to Fall facility hours on Monday, August 25.

  • Monday & Wednesday: 6:15 – 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5 – 7 p.m.

  • Fridays: 6:15 – 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Saturdays & Sundays: Closed

AFC Down Week – Hours Change Notice

Attention members & guests,
Our annual maintenance period at the Aquatic & Fitness Center (AFC) will be from Friday, August 1 through Thursday, August 14. The AFC will be closed during this time. 
The Recreation & Athletic Complex (RAC) will have extended hours during this time:
  • Monday – Thursday: 6a-8p
  • Friday: 6a-6p
  • Saturday – Sunday: 8a-5p
Additionally, our members are welcome to use the Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center at GMU’s Manassas campus during this period. Information about the Freedom Center’s offerings, as well as hours and address, can be found on their website here.

Recreation Pool to Reopen – May 22

We’re excited to announce that the Recreation Pool is anticipated to reopen on Thursday, May 22! From May 13 – May 21, we will have open swim in the Competition Pool.

Pool Closure Update – March 18, 2025

The Competition Pool at the Aquatic & Fitness Center (AFC) will reopen tomorrow, March 19 with normal hours.
The Recreation Pool is closed until further notice as we work to fix a broken pump. The sauna and spa will remain open during this time.
