Our facilities will uphold the following daily schedules. Please note that these hours are subject to change given University closures/ holidays, inclement weather situations, and more. Stay in the know on any changes to our daily hours by signing up for our facility alert emails using this link.

Recreation Athletic Complex 

  • Monday – Thursday: 7 am – 11 pm
  • Friday: 7 am – 9 pm
  • Saturday: 1 pm – 8 pm
  •  Sunday: 1 pm – 11 pm

Skyline

  • Monday – Friday: 3 pm – 12 am
  • Saturday – Sunday: 5 pm – 12 am

Aquatic & Fitness Center  

  • Monday – Thursday: 6 am – 10 pm
  • Friday: 6 am – 8pm
  • Saturday: 8 am – 6 pm
  • Sunday: 8am – 8 pm

AFC Recreation Pool 

  • Monday – Thursday: 6:15 am – 9 :30 pm
  • Friday: 6:15 am – 7:30 pm
  • Saturday: 8:15 am – 5:30 pm

AFC Competition Pool

  • Monday/Wednesday: 6:15am – 8:30am | 11am – 1 pm | 5:00 pm – 7 pm
  • Tuesday/Thursday: 6:15 am – 8:30 am
  • Friday: 6:15 am – 8:30 am | 11 am – 1 pm
  • Saturday – Sunday: CLOSED

Sauna scheduled to reopen Monday, July 25

Dear Students and Members,

Construction on the AFC Sauna is going very well and we are currently installing new wood and benches. We plan to re-open the sauna for use on Monday, July 25th. Stay tuned for further communication.

Play Squash at the RAC This Summer!

Mason Rec has 2 squash courts on the second level of the RAC, come play this summer! Don’t have equipment? No problem. Check some out at the front desk!

Summer Fitness Classes begin Monday, May 23

Classes run May 23- July 30!

All classes will run with our Group Fitness Safety Protocol in place. Participants must clean their equipment after use and must reserve their spot in class HERE.

There will be no classes Monday, May 30 or Monday, July 4.

POLICIES

  • You must have a current Mason Recreation membership to be eligible to take part in our “In Person” group fitness classes.
  • Admittance to all classes requires online registration through connect.recreation.gmu.edu.
  • Check in at the facility front desk is required.
  • Members may not arrive more than 15 minutes before their reservation time.
  • All sales will be cashless.
  • No towels for rent.
  • Small bags will be allowed but must stay with you. Lockers and cubbies will be closed.
  • Appropriate workout attire required, including shirt and close-toed athletic shoes. Sandals and denim are not permitted.
  • Barre and Belly Dance classes can choose whether shoes are worn or not in the specific room. If a patron leaves the room, the patron must have shoes on.
  • If equipment is being used in these classes that can be dropped on the foot, then patrons must wear shoes for that portion of class.
  • There is no admittance ten minutes after a class has begun.
  • No food or drink except clear liquids in sealable plastic containers.
  • Do not drop weights.
  • Return equipment to designated area after use.
  • Do not remove equipment from this studio.
  • Report any injuries or incidents to staff.
  • Anyone not adhering to these rules may be asked to leave the premises.

Students! Summer Session starts on May 16

The Mason Rec summer student membership period begins May 16!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Active Students – If you are a student taking any summer credits, you have an active membership.
  • Inactive students – Those that were enrolled in classes Spring ’22 (that have not graduated and are not taking summer classes) can purchase a Summer Membership for $30 online at Connect.recreation.gmu.edu/membership.
  • Visiting Student Membership – Mason Rec offers summer memberships to students of other universities for just $100. Tell your friends that they can purchase a discounted Mason Rec membership by presenting their university ID card at the front desks.
