Lauren Shutt is from Virginia. She earned her B.S. in Communication Studies as well as her M.S. in Sport and Recreation Leadership from James Madison University. Prior to George Mason, she was a Graduate Assistant for Health Promotion at James Madison University Recreation. Lauren is an active member of the Virginia Recreational Sports Association (VRSA) and the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), where she served as the State Student Leader (VRSA) in 2023-24 and a Student Seat on the NIRSA Assembly 2022-23. In 2024 she received NIRSA’s William N. Wasson Student Leadership & Academic Award for her outstanding contributions to collegiate recreation.
