Adaptive Sports

Empowering All Patriots Through Inclusive Recreation

At Mason Recreation, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every member of our community can engage in physical activity, build connections, and thrive. Our Adaptive Sports program is designed to provide accessible and supportive recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities, ensuring that everyone has the chance to participate and excel.

Our Mission

To create and sustain adaptive sports programs that promote health, wellness, and community engagement for individuals of all abilities.

Current Initiatives

We are excited to announce the development of our inaugural adaptive sport: Beep Baseball. This initiative is a collaborative effort between Mason Recreation, Disability Services, and the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes. Beep Baseball is a modified version of traditional baseball, tailored for athletes who are blind or visually impaired, utilizing auditory cues to facilitate play.

Get Involved

Whether you're interested in participating, volunteering, or supporting our adaptive sports programs, there are numerous ways to get involved:

  • Participants: No prior experience is necessary. We welcome individuals of all skill levels to join our programs.
  • Volunteers: Assist with coaching, event organization, or administrative support.
