Club Football Players of the Week

Mason Club Football is on a steady rise! Despite losing their home opener this past weekend 12-13 to Williamson Teach, your Patriots rolled through UNC-Greensboro 20-2 last week earning 2 Patriots NCFA Players of the week. Starting QB #3 Justin Fenical threw for 2 touchdowns with 270 yards through the air earning Offensive Player of the week. Additionally, DT/G #24 Devin Anderson earned Defensive Player of the week with 2 sacks, 1 fumble and 1 fumble recovery.

George Mason Football has risen from #21 in a preseason poll to #10 after the UNC-G win. Fenical and Anderson need to make their presence known and bounce back from their loss because they face the University of Pittsburgh this Saturday in the steel city.

Job Opening: Lifeguards!

Lifeguards maintain a safe, clean and secure environment for our patrons in the aquatic area. They act as first responders and provide assistance to medical emergencies throughout the facility. Lifeguards are trained to have knowledge of the pool areas including chemicals used to clean and sanitize the pools as well as pool lengths, depths, and temperature.

Qualifications required: Certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Health Care Provider (or equivalent).

Competition Pool updates

Due to challenges met with our mechanical repairs and tile repairs in the competition pool during our annual maintenance, the competition pool will remained closed through Sunday, September 9^th. We will re-open on Monday, September 10^th.

As a result of this closure, the varsity swim team will have exclusive use of the recreation pool for practice on the following dates and times:

Tuesday, September 4^th – 6:30a-8:30a and 12:30p-4p
Wednesday, September 5^th – 6:30a-8:30a and 12:30p-4p
Thursday, September 6^th – 6:30a-8:30a and 12:30p-4p
Friday, September 7^th – 6:30a-8:30a and 12:30p-4p
Saturday, September 8^th – 8a-10:30a

During these practice times, the recreation pool will be closed for patron use. The sauna and hot tub will be available for use.

The Recreation Pool will be CLOSED as follows for staff training:

*Saturday, September 9^th – 10:30a-4p
*Sunday, September 10^th – 9a-3p

Bike Registration Days at Mason

Parking and Transportation will be at various locations in September to encourage Mason cyclists to register their bikes. If it’s your first bike being registered with us, we’ll get you signed up and give you a free U-lock, some bike lights, safety information, and more. Be sure to bring your bike as it’s part of the registration process. We’ll be at multiple locations:
