Register for the 2025 George Mason 5k

Join us on Saturday, October 18 at the Fairfax Campus for the annual George Mason 5K and Fun Run! This year, all proceeds from the event will benefit the George Mason University Disability Services Fund, which helps provide scholarships, programs and events that enhance support for students with disabilities. Event Fees

  • 5K Run / Walk: $35
  • Fun Run (Ages 7-12): $30

Recreation Pool Closed Until Further Notice

Attention Members and Guests,
During our maintenance period, an issue with the filtration of our recreation pool was discovered. In order to accurately diagnose and complete repairs, the recreation pool will be CLOSED until further notice. This includes the sauna and whirlpool.
We will be extending the competition pool hours to match our normal recreation pool hours as much as possible to provide a space for swimmers! Please check our lane charts for those hours.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these unexpected repairs, and we’ll continue to keep you updated as things progress.

Fall Semester Hours Starting August 25!

The Fall semester is almost here! Our facilities will transition back to Fall facility hours on Monday, August 25.

Competition Pool Hours
  • Monday & Wednesday: 6:15 – 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5 – 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 6:15 – 8:30 a.m.
  • Fridays: 6:15 – 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Saturdays & Sundays: Closed

From Monday, August 18 – Sunday, August 24, the Aquatic & Fitness Center (AFC) and Recreation Athletic Complex (RAC) will have the following altered hours due to Fall Staff Training:

AFC Down Week – Hours Change Notice

Attention members & guests,
Our annual maintenance period at the Aquatic & Fitness Center (AFC) will be from Friday, August 1 through Thursday, August 14. The AFC will be closed during this time. 
The Recreation & Athletic Complex (RAC) will have extended hours during this time:
  • Monday – Thursday: 6a-8p
  • Friday: 6a-6p
  • Saturday – Sunday: 8a-5p
Additionally, our members are welcome to use the Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center at GMU’s Manassas campus during this period. Information about the Freedom Center’s offerings, as well as hours and address, can be found on their website here.

July 4 Mason Recreation Facilities CLOSED

ALL Mason Recreation facilities and outdoor venues will be closed for Independence Day on Friday, July 4. Spaces will return to normal facility hours on Saturday, July 5.

RAC Gym Opening June 16

The RAC Gym floor project is complete and the space will be reopening earlier than anticipated.
The gym will reopen with the RAC facility on Monday, June 16th. Please view our schedule for any further updates.
