Rockin’ With Rec

Join us as Mason Recreation along with our campus partners welcome students to campus at our annual Rockin’ with REC event on Wednesday, August 28 at the RAC from 5pm – 8PM! This event is a MUST for all Mason students – it is one big student centered party at the RAC where we show you ALL of the different ways you can get involved, have fun and stay active on campus!  We will have food, fun, games and prizes at this event, with a little something for everyone to enjoy including a Rockwall, a S’mores station, games, and more! Looking to join a Club Sport? They’ll be here tabling and ready to answer questions! Want to try a Group Exercise class? We will be hosting 30 min demos throughout the event! The facility will also be open for use so stop by to play some basketball, tennis, volleyball, lawn games like 9 square, giant pong, giant jenga, corn hole, and more! Recreation Sensation

Stop by this event hosted by Corner Pocket and Mason Recreation at East Plaza near the JC. There will be lawn games including Corn Hole and Giant Pong – as well as information tables, giveaways and much more! Enjoy a frozen treat and try to win one of our great prizes! We are raffling many different prizes, so come by!

Browse our information tables and learn about all the recreation opportunities available to you on campus. From table, arcade and video games at the Corner Pocket, to Intramural and Clubs Sports, Outdoor Adventures, Fitness, and other activities with Mason Recreation – there will be plenty of things to do and fun to be had at this event.

Splash Night

• September 6 |  8 pm – 10 pm  at the AFC

Join us for an evening Aquatic fun as we kick off the fall semester!

We will have activities such as Log Rolling, Paddleboarding, and our annual Biggest Splash Contest!

Come check out what Mason Recreation and our Club sports do in the pool! Underwater Hockey, log rolling, Flowmotion FITT group fitness class, and more will have drop-in sessions to try out and see if they are for you.

EDGE Open Climb

Join us for an afternoon of climbing on our 50-foot Alpine Tower!

Janae Haaland, associate director of technology services in the division of University Life, has been a part of Mason Nation since 2015, starting out as the assistant director for technology with Mason Recreation. 

Janae Haaland, associate director of technology services in the division of University Life, has been a part of Mason Nation since 2015, starting out as the assistant director for technology with Mason Recreation.

She also supervises IT staff within University Career Services, Student Health Services, and University Life Technology Services, and provides consultations and back-up support for those positions as needed.

In recognition of her hard work, Haaland is August Employee of the Month.

This is not Haaland’s first award for her inspiring efforts at Mason. She also received an Outstanding Service Award in July for her amazing work ethic.
