Participate in a Research Study to Win a Gift Card!

You are invited to participate in a campus recreation research study! Researchers from multiple universities are conducting a study to understand student physical activity and perceptions of campus recreation facilities, and we want to hear from you!

This research will be used to inform diversity, equity, and inclusion practices for campus recreation departments at colleges and universities, including at your university! Upon completion of the survey, you will be invited to enter a gift card drawing for one of 15 $20 e-gift cards.

April 27 | Mason’s Annual Victims’ Rights Run/Walk 5K

Hey Mason Nation!

It’s that time of year again! The George Mason University Annual Victims’ Rights Run/Walk 5K – VRRW will take place on Wednesday April, 27, 2022 with various activities across Mason campuses. You also have the option to also #5KYourOwnWay and participate in activities the week before.

Funds raised through this event will support student survivors through the Mason’s Victims of Violence Fund. This Fund provides Mason student survivors with trauma therapy, emergency housing, safety planning support, and many other resources.

We welcome all Mason partners, as well as all community members near and far. Since this year’s event will be hybrid, we encourage you to 5k your own way! Choose an activity that’s right for you whether it’s running, walking, swimming, dancing, yoga, etc. Spread your activity throughout the week or connect with one of the small group activities on-campus!

Fairfax County’s School Age Child Care (SACC) program is currently hiring for multiple positions throughout the County!

SACC staff are dedicated to helping families succeed and children thrive by providing safe, high-quality care for school-age children before and after school and full days during school breaks.

SACC staff ensure the safety of children and create a welcoming environment that supports children’s social, emotional and physical development. SACC staff provide opportunities for children to build self-confidence, develop friendships, participate in physical activity and have fun.

SACC staff offer unique, creative and engaging curriculum experiences which provide opportunities for children to expand their interests, develop their talents and enhance their learning.

It’s a day where we can dream big and support the initiatives we believe in. When you choose to contribute to Mason Recreation you help provide professional development opportunities for staff, allow us to implement facility and programming enhancements to spaces like our pools, fields and more! -You can even choose to directly support many of our 30+ club sports teams.

The Dry Triathlon is Almost Here!

Mason Recreation is hosting its 1st Dry Triathlon!  This event will take place on April 16th at the Aquatic & Fitness Center on the Fairfax Campus of George Mason University. The Dry Triathlon consists of 3 sections (legs). Each section is based on completing a certain distance or number or repetitions. Registration is open now online. Click here to register online!
