A Letter To Our Members

To Our Mason Recreation Members & Guests,

We hope that you are all staying safe, healthy, and finding ways to stay active and empower your well-being during this unprecedented time. Our thoughts are with you all as we work to navigate our new reality.

Please rest assured knowing that every member of the Mason Recreation team is working diligently to secure a safe environment for our members, guests, and the Mason Community in preparation for a return to campus. Our Focus is to provide the safest environment possible for the well-being of our patrons for future participation and use of our facilities, programs, and services.

We are staying in line with the guidelines and best practices that are set forth from the American College Health AssociationNIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation Association, and George Mason University in determining a re-open date for our Recreation facilities. Given this guidance, we anticipate that the re-open date for our facilities may be later then the Virginia Governor’s plan for corporate, municipal, and additional fitness facilities.

Future communication will be sent out once we have more information about our re-opening, hours of operations, amenities/ services, and any additional guidance/ protocols we are able to share. Please also use the University Life Covid Student Success website as a reference for all the up to date information and communications about George Mason resources and facilities. The George Mason University Covid Website is also a good source for university wide decisions and information regarding Covid-19.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us at [email protected] and check out our virtual programs and offerings online at Recreation.gmu.edu/virtual-recreation/.
