From October 28th – December 1st, the Aquatic & Fitness Center (AFC) will be undergoing a major construction project and the cardio floor, weight floor and downstairs stretching room will be CLOSED. The upstairs Group Exercise room and the cycling studio will remain open and group fitness classes will be unaffected.
During this time, Skyline Fitness Center will open on weekdays at 11:30am. It will close at midnight still. The Recreation Athletic Complex (RAC) will see increased attendance during this time but will not be altering its hours.
We appreciate your understanding and patience with our construction project!
Join us for an evening of aquatic fun as we kick off the Fall Semester! Splash Night is this Friday, September 13 from 8-10 p.m. We will have activities such as log rolling, paddle boarding, and our annual Biggest Splash Contest!
Be sure to check out what Mason Recreation and our Club Sports do in the pool too! Underwater Hockey, Club Swim, a Paddleboard boot camp class, and more will have drop-in sessions to try out and see if they are for you.
Patriots, we want to hear from you! Fill in the user survey for Mason Recreation to share your feedback with us and help us improve our facilities, programs, and services. The survey will close on April 30th. Please take a few minutes to let us know what you love about Mason Rec and how we can make it even better for the George Mason Community. Whether you are a Mason student or not, you can still take the survey to be entered in our raffle for a chance to win exciting prizes. Thank you for being a part of Mason Rec.
Due to construction, the AFC Recreation pool will have modified hours and open at 4:00 pm from March 25th – April 12th. Please keep an eye on our website (and on your inbox) as these dates may change.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work to enhance our facilities and improve our user experiences during this time.
Beginning Monday, March 18th, 2024 the Aquatic and Fitness Center (AFC) elevator will be out of service for repairs. These repairs will last at minimum thirty (30) days.
While the elevator is out of service, the accessible parking spots in the front of the AFC will only provide accessible entrance to the main floor (Top level of the AFC).
How to Access the lower half of the AFC during this repair time:
In order to access the lower half of the AFC, which includes the pool, you will need to park in accessible parking spots located around the back in the Potomac Heights Parking Lot on Presidents Park Drive.
From there you will be able to enter the lower level of the AFC via door B17.
This door is not automated and a staff member will need to be present to check in all patrons entering through B17.
Please ask the front desk staff for assistance when locating the parking lot and entering the lower-level entrance when you first arrive.
With any questions, concerns, or assistance please contact the front desk at (703)993-3939.
