Outdoor Supervisor
Position Description:
George Mason Recreation is seeking Outdoor Supervisors. This position will have the opportunity to gain a variety of experiences through working with Mason Recreation and the Mason community. Additional training time will also be required if selected.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Outdoor Venues at West Campus and RAC Field
- The supervisor will work closely with intercollegiate athletic personnel, recognized student organizations, recreation senior staff, external users, and intramurals, and club sports
- Serve as first responder to all accidents and emergencies, and complete necessary documentation
- Perform general maintenance on Recreation equipment and spaces as needed
- Identify and respond to patron behavioral issues, and report concerns to the Assistant Director
- Maintain respectable working relationships with all recreation staff and patrons
- Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions
- Represent Mason Recreation’s mission and vision
- Communicate daily with Managers on Duty of the RAC, Intramural Supervisors, and other Recreation staff
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director
Required Qualifications:
- Applicant must be willing to work nights, weekends
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid US driver’s license with 2 years of driving experience and less than 6 points
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in inclement weather
- Requires walking or standing frequently; occasional sitting for long periods of time
Training Opportunities (including, but not limited to):
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid
- Athletics and Recreation Safety Training
- Title IX Training (Building Supportive Communities)
- Driver Awareness
- All trainings will be offered free of charge to employees
