*Eligibility for participation is open to all active George Mason University students, faculty, and staff.
- Outdoor Adventures programs will begin and end at Skyline Fitness Center on the Fairfax Campus.
- All trips will have a mandatory pre-trip meeting that will be scheduled by the trip leaders prior to the trip’s departure. Uncommunicated absences from the pre-trip meeting will result in forfeiture of one’s spot on the Adventure Trip

Refund Policy: Refunds will be given for any withdrawal made from a trip two weeks before the trip date. No refunds will be given for withdrawals within the two-week timeframe of a trip unless for cancelled events/programs or extenuating circumstances approved by the department.
Join OA for its inaugural ski trip to Liberty Mountain Resort in PA! This single day trip will meet at the Skyline Fitness Center and depart from there. Trip Registration includes lift pass, equipment rental, and transportation to and from the mountain. Registration does not include ski/snowboard lessons. Lesson information can be found here. Come learn the ropes and join OA for a day of climbing at SportRock, one of the area’s climbing gyms. Trip Registration includes equipment rental from OA, transportation, and entry fee. Join us for a 5-day hike along the Maryland section of the Appalachian trail! The whole trip will be approximately 25 miles and all food, equipment, trip leadership, and transportation are included with trip registration. Gear up with Outdoor Adventures as we head down the road to Lake Accotink for some quality off-pavement biking. The trip will begin with a 6-mile loop on gravel around the Lake before heading up to Wakefield to ride some beginner-friendly mountain bike trails and finish up on the paved Cross County Trail back to the vehicles. Bikes, transportation, and trip leadership are included in registration. Join Outdoor Adventures on a 9-mile round trip hike to Signal Knob, the northern-most point of the Massanutten Mountain range just outside of Front Royal, VA. Note, this hike features significant elevation gain. The trip will meet at the Skyline Fitness Center and depart from the trip from there. Come sleep under the stars, cook in the woods, and join Outdoor Adventures for a weekend of camping at Shenandoah River State Park! The campsite is a short 100-yard walk from the parking area with a full bathhouse located nearby. The trip will depart from the Skyline Fitness Center Saturday morning and return Sunday afternoon. Come celebrate Spring and join Outdoor Adventures for an overnight backpacking trip to the Blue Ridge mountains on the border of Virginia and West Virginia. The entire trip is a 10-mile loop, and registration includes equipment rentals, food, transportation, and trip leadership from our student trip leaders! Note, while this trip requires no prior backpacking experience, it does feature some significant elevation gain and participants should be able to carry a 30-pound backpack uphill. The trip will meet at the Skyline Fitness Center and depart from the trip from there.
