Employment opportunities 

Looking for a job with Mason Recreation? Enjoy a flexible schedule? Love working with or around sports?
Mason Rec’s Intramural Sports program has a variety of employment options, designed to allow students prioritize their studies while also getting involved on campus. Our entry level position are Sports Officials, responsible for enforcing rules of play and providing supervision for safety, fair play, and sportsmanship.

No experience is required to become an official. Interested individuals should attend the training sessions for the specific sport they are interested in. We will teach you everything you need to know. Advancement opportunities are available for those that work for us. Supervisor and Program Assistant positions are open to intramural employees interested in gaining more responsibility and having a larger voice within our program

Why should you work for intramurals?
As an employee for Intramural sports, you are given the opportunity to develop transferable skills that you can utilize in any career you chose. Transferable skills include: customer service, team work, leadership, communication, time management, and personal development.

Training Dates

The training session for are fall sports are listed below. Each sport requires 3 days of training and alll days of training are required. Those individuals that have a class, work, or emergency conflict should communicate that with the Intramural Sports office at imsports@gmu.edu.
