How To Register

Mason Students, Faculty, and Staff with Active NetID or Community Members with an Existing Mason Rec Account

  1. Navigate to https://connect.recreation.gmu.edu/ .
  2. Click “Sign In” in the top right and sign in using the appropriate option.
  3. Click on the icon that says "Safety Classes".
  4. Click on the certification course you would like to register for.
  5. Find the class that you would like to register for, then click the “Register” button at the right.
  6. If registering yourself, click the circle next to your name. If registering a minor, add them as a family member and click the circle next to their name.
  7. Click "Register".
  8. Read the Safety Classes Participation Waiver.
  9. Click the "Accept Now" button at the bottom to sign the waiver.
  10. Read any prompts and click add to cart.
  11. Click "Checkout".
  12. All online payments must be made using a Visa or Mastercard. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your purchase and further instructions for attending the course.

Community Members without an Existing Mason Rec Account

Members of the local community can create an account to complete online registration.

*Minors must be registered by an adult. Adults should log in and create their account first and then register the minor using the “add a family member” option on the registration page.

  1. Navigate to https://connect.recreation.gmu.edu/.
  2. Click “Sign In” in the top right.
  3. Click “Sign-Up” at the bottom of the pop-up box.
  4. Enter your information.
  5. Click on the icon that says, "Safety Classes".
  6. Click on the certification course you would like to register for.
  7. Find the class that you would like to register for, then click the “Register” button at the right.
  8. Add your date of birth.
  9. If registering yourself, click the circle next to your name. If registering a minor, add them as a family member and click the circle next to their name.
  10. Click "Register".
  11. Read the Safety Classes Participation Waiver.
  12. Click the "Accept Now" button at the bottom to sign the waiver.
  13. Read any prompts and click add to cart.
  14. Click "Checkout".
